In 2018, the State Government of Kerala introduced the Pravasi Pension Scheme to help the average income group Keralites living outside the country. Hence, the form is used to apply for the Pravasi Pension Scheme to get a financial assistant post-retirement when one gets back to the state after working out of the state for a long time. Every Non-Resident Keralite(NRK) between the ages of 18 years and 60 years can use the form to apply as a member of the Pravasi Welfare Fund. The forms are divided into three to cater for NRK’s living abroad, NRK’s who have returned home, and NRK’s in India but outside Kerala.

How to Complete a Kerala Pravasi Welfare Form

Section 1 - Residence Details
Use this section to fill out their residential details, including the district and municipality. Other details include the passport and signature of the NRK.

Section 2 - Personal Information
Fill out your name as indicated in the passport and your birth details(day, month, and year).

Section 3 - Identity Details
Identify yourself by entering personal identity details, including the passport number, place and date of issue.

Section 4 - Address details
This section includes filling the country of residence and is further divided into three types of addresses.

- Communication Address - Requires the address for communication and the telephone number with STD (Subscriber Toll Dialing) code.

- Address Abroad - Add your address abroad, email, and telephone number with ISD (International Subscriber Dialing) code.

- Passport Address - Fill out this part with the address in the passport, district, and PIN code.

Section 5 - Income Details
As shown below in the screenshot, an applicant can fill in their professional details, duration of overseas stay, and information regarding their sponsor. They are important in knowing how long you’ve worked and the amount of income you earn under your profession.

Section 6 - Education Qualifications
One should add their education profile stating their achievements and the highest level of education.

Section 7 - Religion and Marital Status
Complete this section by indicating your marital status, whether married, single or divorced. Also, include your religious definition and whether your family lives abroad or in your native place.

Section 8 - Family Details
Use the boxes provided to fill in the details of family members and their relations to you, including parents and indicate their age as well.

Section 9 - Insurance Beneficiaries
In relation to the family details, it is required to fill in the name, relationship, and age of a beneficiary nominee to claim and benefit from the insurance in the event of one’s death.

Section 10 - Applicant’s Declaration
This section entails the name and signature of an applicant declaring the details provided in the form are true, and any legal action may be taken against them in case otherwise.

Section 11 - Attestation From Authority
An attestation is necessary from the Indian Embassy or the Consulate Abroad and Kerala's designated local officials or authorities. It declares them as a witness of your application signage.

Section 12 - Official Use
The last part is usually for official use only. It indicates the code number, date of registration, ID number and approval status.

What is a Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board Form Used For
A Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board Form is used in applying for a pension scheme whose objective is to provide financial assistance to individuals post-retirement as they get back to the country. It is used to declare membership with the board and legitimize contribution and participation. Being a member allows you to seek financial assistance of up to Rs. 50,000, in case of any critical illness.
Who Has to Fill Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board Out
Every Non-Residential Keralite (NRK) between 18 years to 60 years can fill out the Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board form. The memberships are categorized into three parts to include:
- NRK’s working abroad
- NRK’s back in India for permanent residence after working abroad for at least two years.
- NRK’s working in India outside Kerala.
However, the form is not for usage by citizens of Kerala who are already covered under the State or Central Government Pension scheme.
